The great Indian Saint Sri Chinmoy believed that music and spirituality could not be separated. If music could awaken our True Self then we would be inspired to dive deeper within. He proposed that music could elevate our consciousness just as meditation could, making our potential limitless.
Many others have been quoted on the topic of music and spirituality as well:
Oliver Wendell Holmes recommended that we should take a music bath once or twice a week so that we would find that music is to the soul what water is to the body.
The American poet, T.S. Eliot suggested that you are the music while the music lasts.
Frederick Delius, an English composer, has been quoted as saying that music is an outburst of the soul.
Ludwig van Beethoven said, “Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life.”
The wise philosopher, Confucius said that music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.
A pleasure that human nature cannot do without. Interesting, don't you think? Why is it that human nature cannot do without music? Since our collective Spirit is made of the same vibrational energy that music is perhaps if music died then so would the spirit of humanity. Without it we would be null. Void. Nothing. We would just not be.
