- Understanding unity (Goddess = eternal) and discord (God = ephemeral).
As I mentioned in a previous blog post that there are tenets that exist that create the foundation of Wicca even if you are a Modern Eclectic Wiccan. There is a line, a boundary for everything, a point when something stops being one thing and transforms into something else. There are characteristics or traits that identify Wicca as Wicca. I will continue to discuss these characteristics or tenets in this blog. I have already discussed other tenets and today I will continue with the next one, which is:
This tenet expresses the belief that we, as Wiccans, possess the knowledge and understanding that within all we experience, whether in the physical realm or otherwise, there exists polarity. Nothing is without its counterpart, nothing exists without its opposite for there is an imbalance when one is missing. One without the other is incomplete. Within ourselves, our being we hold both the feminine and masculine aspect of The All. We are both simultaneously; shadow and light, love and fear, receptive and projective … so to know one aspect is to have the understanding of its polarity because it is the absence of what we have already experienced. We witness these concepts within our natural environment as: night and day, death and birth, unity and chaos, the never-ending and temporary; all these polarities are symbolized and expressed within the representations of Goddess (our eternal mother) and God (our ephemeral father), we are their children, creations of the divine force that expanded and expressed itself in physical manifestations with the purpose to grow and understand itself. We are unified by them, yet remain separate as we stand apart enabling us to be reflections of each other as well as The All.
I am a clairsentient (empathic), Non-Traditional (eclectic) Wiccan Witch who has been forging my spiritual path and my relationship with God Herself my entire life, however I’ve been actively studying and practicing Wicca for the past ten or so years. This blog is a journal of my personal opinions, insights, and thoughts concerning my spiritual beliefs.
