In my dream I opened up a 'bar and grille'. The building that I had opened up my restaurant in had been a restaurant before but had gone bankrupt so the building already had a kitchen, and dining area, but you know I don't remember a bar even though it was a bar and grille. Strange.
I wasn’t the cook nor was I the manager of the restaurant. I had hired people to do that but I was the owner. I called the shots. The name of the place was ... Erin’s Bar and Grille. I named it after my best friend who died in September of 2011. I had decorated it in Irish Pub style in her honor. There was an older woman who was in her late sixties, named Stella, who was the cook, and another older woman about the same age, named Jo-Ann, who I hired as manager. These women had worked together for years at various places even owning their own place until they sold it. So they had a wonderful working friendship which was a bonus for my place.
I leave the kitchen and go to a storage room in the back of the restaurant. I walk through a door and see a black, fuzzy spider hanging on a web against the glass pane in the door. The spider is as big as my thumb. I briefly contemplate squishing it but decide to grab hold of the web and move it so that she isn’t harmed. As I do so she jumps ahead of me and onto a cat. I have two cats in the storage room with me: one is my black cat, Alchemy, who is weaving his way between and against my legs. The other cat is a gray and white cat, smaller and thinner than Alchemy. In my dream this cat is also mine. She is female but I don’t recall a name. The spider jumps onto this cat and beginnings weaving a cocoon around her. Two other spiders jump onto the cat and join her. I am horrified and walk over to the feline and swipe the spiders off of her with my foot. I bend down to help remove the web but as soon as I do so the cat jumps up and into a corner trying to get away from the spiders but as she does so she jumps into a larger web that they have spun in that corner. It traps the cat. The spiders jump back onto her joined by yet a larger one that had been sitting in that corner web.
I am horrified and do not know what to do. I am afraid of reaching out with my hands because I can see that the spiders are biting the cat as she is meowing loudly. I instinctively know that the spiders are venomous. I watch as the spiders continue to spin a cocoon and lift her further off the floor. The cat is completely cocooned when I am awoken my by own cat, Alchemy.
I wasn’t sure what to make of it all back when it happened and still reading through it now I still have no answers.
