On Friday, June 3, 2011 a close friend of mine came for a visit staying overnight in my daughter’s room.
My daughter is highly sensitive and has seen spirits since she was four years old (at the time of this experience she was nine). She would often talk about "the lady in the white dress that watches me when I sleep". From the first time she spoke about her I realized
That Friday evening my friend went to sleep around midnight I followed about thirty minutes later retiring to my own bedroom only to be startled awake within minutes by a loud bang and the sound of my daughter's bedroom door being opened. My heart raced and I instinctively knew that my friend had experienced something paranormal in my daughter’s bedroom. I should point out that my friend is also highly sensitive and has had experiences with the spirit realm for as many years as I've known her.
The next morning I mentioned being woken up and asked her what had happened. She told me that she had visitors during the night. She had intended to finish the novel she was reading before going to sleep but had only read a few pages before going to sleep. Something woke her and when looked around the room she saw a woman in a white dress sitting in a rocking chair by the window. At first my friend thought she was imagining her so she stared more intently at the image it was then that the woman turned and looked directly at her.
The woman’s voice was in my friend’s head. "Where's Lorena?"
"She's in the other bedroom," my friend explained.
"Who are you?" asked the woman.
"My name is Beth. I'm visiting for the night."
"Oh." She turned back to the window.
My friend explained to me that she took a deep breath and closed her eyes with the intention of falling back asleep when she felt as if a child crawled into the bed with her curling up next to her. At first she was convinced that it was my daughter who had gotten up to go to the bathroom then returned to her own bed forgetting that my friend was sleeping there. It only took her a moment to realize that the “child” that curled up with her was not my daughter and she jumped out of bed. She went to the door to the bedroom and turned the knob only to have it come off in her hand. She panicked and flipped the light on to find that she was alone in the room. She replaced the doorknob, opened the door a few inches and returned to bed.
