The comforter set came with those decorative pillows and while they make the bed look nice they are a bit of a pain because they get moved back and forth from the bed to the clothes hamper. They get placed on the bed during the day and (usually) are placed on the clothes hamper by the window near my dresser when we go to sleep at night. We’ve been doing this for about four or five days now, but a very odd thing occurred last night (December 6, 2014). When we went upstairs to go to bed around eleven o’clock the door to our bedroom was partially closed. This was odd since we usually keep it opened during the day so that the heat can circulate upstairs. When I tried to push open the door there was resistance. I had to put some strength into the push to get the door to open wide enough for me to walk through.
What the hell?
When I stepped into the room I found two of the three decorative pillows behind the door positioned between the door and my husband’s dresser. The pillows were creating the resistance. How the heck did the pillows end up there? And in such a position? I sort of expected to find someone standing in the room but there was no one (physically) there.
My husband said that when we came to bed the night before he had moved three of the pillows to the clothes hamper. I was snuggled with the third pillow as I had gone to bed a few hours prior to him with all three pillows still on the bed with me. When I had awoken that morning, I had gotten up earlier than my husband, I had found the pillow I had been snuggling with on the floor by my side of the bed, which is right by the door to the room but the two other pillows were not by the door. I cannot recall if they were on the clothes hamper, which is about five feet away from the door, but I know for certain that they were not right by the door if they had been I would have had to move them to leave the room as the door would not open up with the pillows positioned in the way I had found them when we entered the room. And once I had awoken that morning I didn’t return to our bedroom until that evening.
My husband pointed out that the pillows couldn’t have been by the door when he had gotten up an hour or so after me as they would have made it impossible for him to leave the room without moving them. I checked with my daughter to see if she had been in our bedroom at all during the day. She had not. I checked with our son. He had not, either.
We considered that Alchemy, the cat might have knocked the pillows off of the clothes hamper in order to sit and look out the window but then he would have had to drag or push the pillows about five feet so that they were behind the door and that isn’t a behavior that he had ever exhibited before. He doesn’t usually carry or drag anything around with him and usually if there is something on the clothes hamper other than clothes that he can sit on he won’t jump up there and these decorative pillows are new and very fluffy.
Soffie, our dog won’t go upstairs into our room unless she is following one of us and is too small to be able to jump up onto the clothes hamper. She will only drag around her toys as she is afraid of things that are foreign to her – like decorative pillows.
So, how had the pillows gotten there? And why? For what purpose?
Something or someone had moved the pillows from the top of the clothes hamper to behind the door about five feet away and positioned them in such a way that caused us a slight challenge to enter our bedroom. It felt as if something didn’t want us in the room.
Needless to say, I had some trouble falling asleep last night and awoke with a feeling of uneasiness. I think it might be time for a cleansing.
